Press Gazette interviews Social Spider director David Floyd

Industry publication Press Gazette has interviewed Social Spider director David Floyd about our progress in “making local news pay”.

In the interview, David discusses the origin of our news publications, how we have grown and expanded over the years, and what the future might hold for us and the local news industry at large.

The piece also explores our finances, revealing that we are now expecting to be profitable for a second year in a row.

Speaking to Press Gazette reporter Charlotte Tobitt about why we continue to invest in print newspapers, David said: “Having a physical presence in the community is important. I think it’s important people see a paper, pick it up and get a curated view of what’s going on in their local area.”
